For When You Feel Like Giving Up

"We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have." - Frederick Keonig

"I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstances but by our disposition." - Martha Washington

"A word of encouragement during a failure is worth more than an hour of praise after success."  - Unknown

"Everyone has inside them a piece of good news . The good news is you don't know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is." - Anne Frank

"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved." - Hellen Keller

"What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly." - Richard Bach

"Never let the odds keep you from doing what you know in your heart you were meant to do." - H. Jackson Brown Jr.

"When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on." - Franklin D Roosevelt

"Often people attempt to live their lives backwards; they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier. The way it actually works is reverse. You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want." - Margaret Young

"When life knocks you down, try to land on your back. Because if you can look up, you can get up." - Les Brown

  1. I like reading your shared quotes from time to time, it always help to lift up my spirit whether I'm in the middle of emotional swirl or stuck in day to day mundane:)
Thanks for spreading the positivity! Michelle.

    1. Chloe, I'd like to thank you, as well, for always being a shining supporter! Your comments and uplifting words touch me deeply! Big hugs!

  2. Thanks for all your beautiful quotes. But today I needed Marhta Washingtons the most. Thank Michelle

    1. Hi Christy. May you have a delightful and happy rest of the week!

  3. My husband of 37 years died in 2008. Shortly after that, I was in the grocery store and the checker said "Have a nice day!" And I thought, yes maybe some day I will have a nice day again. And it turned out to be true. I still miss my late husband. I married a man that I became friends with, during the awful time that my husaband was sick. He lost his wife and we have that bond in common.

Today is just today. It may be the most awful time of your life. But you do not know what tomorrow will bring. The best times of your life are still out there. Be grateful for everything you have today and know that this day will pass. You do not lose by holding onto hope.

    1. Sorry for your loss! I love your insight as well. <3 Hugs.

  4. I just read this post today, and honestly - thank you for this selection. It is exactly what I needed to hear today.
