The Power of Words- Positive Affirmations

It's been a while since I last used my Winsor & Newton watercolor set. It's also been a while since I last art journaled.

Remember how last weekend was spent cleaning and reorganizing? Well, this weekend I made sure that I was going to make time for fun and get back into my play zone.
The cleaning came in handy, though, because I came across the beautiful art journal my mother had gifted me last year for my birthday. When I received it, I remember thinking how I was going to "save it" for a special project. Now is that time. My special project has begun.
So this past Sunday I gave myself full permission to paint away to my heart's content. It was great.

I also found myself pumped up and re-energized after watching this inspiring interview with Lisa Nichols. Gosh, how I love that woman. Her gift of story telling is just so moving and motivating. And no matter how many times I hear her tell those stories, I always catch myself teary-eyed. (Immediately after watching that interview, I went out and bought her newest book so fast! Already on chapter 3..so good!)

It was ironic. As I was watching Lisa's interview, I was also painting on my page of affirmations.
Words carry and hold power. I believe that without a doubt. So it's important to me to feed my heart and mind with nothing but uplifting statements, encouraging mantras, and strong affirmations.

For the last year, I've been reading these sentences to myself almost every day. It's been a game changer in so many ways.

Don't underestimate the power of these "little" words. They possess the strength to lift you up when needed. It's all a matter of which words you choose. Choose your thoughts and words wisely and they can take your spirit higher.
"What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create."

"Your word is your wand. The words you speak create your own destiny." - Florence Scovel Shinn

"A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts." - James Allen, As a Man Thinketh

"The only limitation is that which one sets up in one's own mind." - Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich
