Spring is here

Spring is here.

And I know things have been a little quiet on the Seaweed Kisses blog. Over the past few weeks I've been taking the opportunity to get some spring cleaning done.

It's been a bit of a challenge reducing the clutter that's been meaning to go, but I have to admit that it's been a fun process. Seeing my home open up with more space feels so refreshing and free.

With reducing the clutter also comes with minimizing personal belongings...aka clothes and stationery goods. Realizing that there are only a small amount of things that really serve a purpose in my life, it was time to sell off all others.

With all this downsizing, there is an ultimate goal that I'm striving for. In these upcoming years I'd like to take a good 6-12 months to just travel and see so much more of this beautiful world.

With the average job permitting only 2-3 weeks off a year for vacation, options for far away destinations are few and limited.

So, for the next 12-24 months I vow to manage my money wisely and reduce the unnecessary and frivolous spending. I owe it to myself.

I've already got the capsule wardrobe in the works along with experimenting in downsizing my personal daily planner. (I'll be posting updates soon on my Pocket Size Moleskine. If you're anxious to see now, though, feel free to watch part 1 and part 2 of my #pocketplanning video series.)

  1. I just knew when I started reading this post, you were beginning a journey toward a more simplified lifestyle. Good for you! I started my journey about 4 years ago. It's been a slow process but a steady one. Have your heard of Project333 (BeMoreWithless.com)? If not, the blog is a great resource. Wishing you the best with living the simple life.
