Successful people vs Unsuccessful people

According to this chart, I must be slowly climbing up that "success ladder" as I definitely keep more to-do and project lists than I can count, and I for sure use more than one journal.

Coming across this poster couldn't have been at a better time. As a little reminder, this made me realize that I'd like to start writing in my journal on a regular basis again. In the beginning of the summer I did a little 30-day writing challenge, but that somehow came to a stop due to vacation planning and the typical busy schedule. Now, though, I would really like to get back into it and make it more of a permanent and everyday habit.

So yesterday I went out and bought a new journal that I labeled, "Body, Spirit, Mind." It'll be a compilation of -
- my 2014 year recap
- goals I've accomplished
- expressed gratitude
- positive affirmations
- new projects to try
- mental and psychical changes I've experienced
- and my 2015 resolutions aka my new year plan

I'm excited to start this journal as I know it'll give me a better sense of who I am and help guide me into the person I want to be. It'll be a place where I can turn to without attached judgement or fears. This journal will be my personal and most private thoughts that I've been meaning to bring out and work with, and it'll be a tool to help guide me through the struggles and strengths that I need to work on to move forward in life, physically, spiritually, and mentally.

If this is something that you would be interested in journaling on too, I welcome you to give it a try! Get a notebook, any notebook that you are comfortable with and know that will be used, and start mapping out areas in your life that you'd like to improve or focus on. If you need help and don't know where or how to start, no worries. In the next few weeks I'll probably start a segment showing exactly how I use my Body, Spirit, and Mind journal and what important things are included to keep me balanced on an everyday basis.

If this journaling style is something that you already do, feel free to leave a comment below (or email) on how it's helped you, or maybe any tips you would like to share! I'd love to hear from you!

  6. For me, this post was a little depressing, lol. We all have room to improve our personalities, but for the best part of my adult life (all 7 years of being over 18, that is) I've had no idea what I want to be, which according to this chart, makes me a failure. I think this chart may be a little hard on people who don't have it all figured out yet, but that's just coming from my biased view as one of those people.

    1. HelIo, friend! I can see how it could be a little discouraging or depressing. However, I look at it like this, not knowing what you want to be doesn't necessarily have to tie in with a career or study. For example, I know that I want "to be happy, to be of service to others, to live an enlightened life, to be a great friend and mentor, to be healthy," and so on. So, just think of the little things in life that are overlooked and that can slowly help you find more of what and who you "want to be." ^_^

    2. Champagne Star although I want to avoid the cliche "you have you're whole life in front of you" it's a cliche for a reason... I felt much the same at your age, as a new wife and mum, but in what feels like the passing of only five minutes I am 46 with an adult son! I have lots of memories - good and bad - and I am even more excited than I thought I could be by this age about what is yet to come.
Lighten up on yourself, be open and enjoy the journey - it's all making you who you might be!!!
