Current happenings

Hello there, friends!

It's been one heck of a month, let me just tell ya. I knew 2014 was coming, but it feels like it's already taking me for roller coaster ride. I've been doing so much here and there with this and that that it's too much, I feel, to explain it all in one breath.

I don't want to bore you with paragraphs full of blah, blah, blahs, so let me just spare you the time and list all that I have been up to. After all, I do enjoy some good ol' list writing.

Reading: The Alchemist- Why haven't I read this sooner??
Watching: Thanks to my girlfriends, I'm totally hooked on Scandal. I have to admit, nights that I should have spent cleaning the dishes, organizing my room, or working on projects were much delayed thanks to this show. Also, I can't forget about my K-dramas. I'm currently enjoying My Love from Another Star.
Eating: more plant based foods, and spaghetti with this delicious sauce from Costco. It tastes restaurant fancy. Oh, and I was craving Korean chicken stew last week, so I finally made it on my own for the first time thanks to this easy recipe.
Drinking: lots and lots of water. I try to drink half my weight in oz each day. Oh, and I'm still sipping on my Yogi tea.
Using: cold pressed avocado oil as a daily facial moisturizer. For me, it works great in combating dry skin and breakouts. For dry skin everywhere else, I've been using coconut oil, and that works great in keeping my skin soft and moisturized even well into the next day.
Recently: got a haircut and added a few highlights.
Wearing: Marc Jacob's Lola perfume, these heels that are actually super comfortable and affordable for work, and this b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l satchel my father gifted me for Christmas.
Listening: audio books and everything on my Songza app
Trying: to set aside some private time for daily meditations
Purchased: a new phone case for my Samsung, because my current one is so worn out.
Working: on my main 2014 goal. I feel it. I think it's soon to happen...

So what have you been up to?

  2. I haven't read the Alchemist yet but everyone I know keep suggesting it to me! I may have to finally pick it soon I think! In the meanwhile I'm reading 1Q84 by Murakami. I've read mixed reviews on it, but so far I'm really enjoying it. Have you ever heard of it?

Anyway I really like this idea for a blog post.. I think I may steal it! (With proper credits of course!)

    PS. that satchel is GORGEOUS!!

    1. You must read it, Fab. I know you'll enjoy it. I was so into that book, I finished it within two days.

And yes, feel free to use this blog post idea. I'd love to read about your current happenings.

  3. I wish I could be able to drink more water too. I don't really feel like drinking water unless I'm really thirsty!
Do you have a Goodreads account, by any chance? x

    1. Hi Nancy! Water took me a while to start drinking too, but after I realized that it was helping with my skin, it became easier in time.

No, I don't have a Goodreads account. I should start, though, being that I plan on being an active reader this year. It's one of my 2014 resolutions. Anything books you would highly recommend or something you'd like to share? Do let me know!

    2. Oh you have to join Goodreads, trust me :D What books are you into? I finished Marquis de Sade's "Justine" which is an anti-clerical tale about the misfortunes of virtue... It's not boring at all, I found myself identifying with some of his insight, which I'm not sure if it's good or bad... It was quite a controversial book at the time, no wonder Napoleon locked him up in the asylum...!
