Here are 7 ways I like to kick-start my mornings and prepare to make it a great day:
1.) Drink 8-10 oz. of water- Hydrates the body and gets the metabolism going.
2.) Stretch- Warms up the muscles and preps the body for my workouts ahead.
3.) Eat a good breakfast- Fuels up the body. They don't call it the most important meal of the day for nothing. Here's a little tip I learned a few years back that always stuck with me: "Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a queen, and dinner like a pauper."
4.) Journal (or meditate) for 5 minutes- Keeps me calm and grounded. Some mornings I even use this time to write down 3 things I'm grateful for. Writing in a sacred space like this has been an effective way for me to appreciate the smaller things in life, and reflect back on good memories.
5.) Set 3 action plans for the day- Gets me focused and motivated to move forward with my daily, weekly, and monthly goals. Writing down my goals has been my secret to accomplishing 90% of my visions, projects, and ideas.
6.) Exercise- Gets the blood pumping, heart rate going, and the skin glowing. Exercise can be the best medicine for creating change in one's physical, emotional, and mental states.
7.) Motivate the mind- Anything is possible if the mind is set to believe in it. That is why before I leave the house, I make sure I listen to at least 10-15 minutes worth of positive affirmations, motivational audio books or speeches. This one was today's favorite. Small bits of self-improvements now will result into bigger positive effects later.
- Note to self- Make everyday the best day of your life.
